简介： GabrielMascaro(1983)isafilmmakerandvisualartistfromRecife,Brazil.HisdocumentaryHousemaids(Doméstica)premieredincompetitionatIDFA2012(Amsterdam).Hisfirstfeaturefilm,Ventosdeagosto(AugustWinds),premieredincompetitionatLocarnoin2014andwasawardedwithaspecialmention.Thefilmhaswonnumerousotherawardsandreceivedmuchcriticalacclaim.HispreviousdocumentariesandvideoinstallationshavebeenscreenedatimportantfilmfestivalsandartisticeventsincludingRotterdam(IFFR),Oberhausen,ClermontFerrand,BFILondon,theGuggenheim,BarcelonaMuseumofContemporaryArt,MoMADocumentaryFortnight,andtheSãoPauloArtBiennale.BoiNeon(NeonBull)isGabriel'ssecondfeaturefilmandpremieredinVeniceFilmFestivalfollowedbyTorontoInternationalFilmFestival(PlatformCompetition)in2015.InVenicethefilmreceivedtheSpecialJuryAward.InApril2016,thefirstretrospectiveofhisworkwasheldattheFilmSocietyofLincolnCenter,inNewYork(USA).
