简介：This is not another standard biopic about Frida Kahlo. “Two Fridas” is a poetic film, based on the relation between the Mexican painter and the Costa Rican nurse Judith, who took care of Frida during the final years of her life. Playing with realism and surrealism, waving from dreams to hallucinations, one the main challenges of the film is to go beyond the famous icon “Frida” and actually puts the focus on her nurse and their fascinating relationship, with a complex, but accomplished, structure of flashbacks within various dimensions of reality and temporality. All comes together with an exquisite direction, oustanding cinematography and delicate art design. And no worries, fans of Frida won’t be delude: without avoiding her rich imaginary, the film is recreation of not only her popular aesthetic but also popular arts and wide realm of Mexican mythology. Ishtar Yasin is one of the pioneers of cinema in Central America, having studied in Moscow and France and producing since 1998. In 2008 her first feature film, “El Camino”, was premiered in Berlinale Forum, winning afterwards 15 International awards. During 2010 she was travelling with an ‘itinerant cinema’ along Nicaragua and Haití, the result of that adventurous commitment is the documentary “Les Invisibles”. In 2011 initiates the development stage of her second feature TWO FRIDAS, where she acts, produces and directs and now have its World Premiere in Tallinn Black Nights. Javier Garcia Puerto
